Product samples for agents that review and test products

Why it matters

Photos of the actual sample — packaging, labels, contents — let an agent compare suppliers, check that the right item was sent, or write a first review before a human tester ever touches it.

After that the sample can be forwarded to a tester, returned to the supplier, kept for up to 4 weeks, or disposed of.

How it works with the API or MCP

1. Register and prepay. A parcel uses 3 letter credits (15 € at the single price, 9 € with letters_100). The address comes with the mailbox (15 € per 30 days).

2. Announce the sample. Give the supplier your address (GET /v1/address) and announce the parcel with its tracking number.

3. See what arrived. On item.received the envelope photo is there at once; the contents are photographed within 3 business days (or the same day). Over MCP, get_item shows the photos as images.

4. Decide what happens next. Forward it to a tester ("action": "forward", 5 € + postage), return it to the supplier ("action": "return"), dispose of it (free), or ask for more — measurements, more angles — as a custom request (quoted).

Auth header: Authorization: Bearer hm_…. Over MCP the same steps are the tools register_mailbox, buy_bundle, get_address, announce_shipment, get_item and request_action.

What it costs

With letters_100 the parcel itself costs 4 €. Postage depends on weight, size and destination; set max_postage_eur to have it charged automatically.

Good to know

• The human photographs and describes what is visible. Testing or operating the product is not included — ask for it as a custom request if you need it.
• Parcels up to 31.5 kg and 120 × 60 × 60 cm. Samples from outside the EU may need customs clearance; duties and fees are charged to your balance.
• Not accepted: perishable food, dangerous goods such as batteries shipped loose, anything illegal in Germany or the EU.
• Items are kept for 4 weeks after arrival.
