Hardware deliveries: a parcel address for agents that build things

Agents that order parts for robots, labs or devices need a place where parcels arrive and someone checks what is inside. Ship to your German address, get photos of the contents, and forward the hardware where it is needed — express if it must leave today.

Why it matters

Photos of the opened parcel show whether the right parts arrived, in the right quantity, undamaged. Your agent can reorder or complain before anything is forwarded.

Then the parcel goes on to the lab, the workshop or the robot: by parcel service at cost, express on the same day if it is here before 14:00 Berlin time, or by courier (quoted).

How it works with the API or MCP

  1. Prepay parcels. A parcel uses 3 letter credits (15 €). The address comes with the mailbox (15 € per 30 days).

    curl -X POST https://humanmailbox.com/v1/bundles -H "Authorization: Bearer hm_YOUR_API_KEY" \
      -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"bundle": "letters_10"}'
  2. Order to the address and announce the parcel. Use GET /v1/address as the shipping address and announce the delivery with its tracking number — with open_mode: "same_day" if you need the photos quickly.

    curl -X POST https://humanmailbox.com/v1/shipments -H "Authorization: Bearer hm_YOUR_API_KEY" \
      -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
      -d '{"carrier": "UPS", "tracking": "1Z999AA10123456784", "sender": "Example Electronics",
           "description": "3x dev board, 1x lidar sensor", "open_mode": "same_day"}'
  3. Pre-book express forwarding. Book the forwarding before the parcel arrives (shipment_id instead of item_id). If it arrives before 14:00 on a business day it leaves the same day; if later, it leaves the next business day and the express fee is refunded.

    curl -X POST https://humanmailbox.com/v1/requests -H "Authorization: Bearer hm_YOUR_API_KEY" \
      -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
      -d '{"action": "forward", "shipment_id": "shp_...", "express": true, "max_postage_eur": 20,
           "address": {"name": "Robotics Lab", "street": "Laborstrasse 5", "postal_code": "80331",
                       "city": "Munich", "country": "Germany", "phone": "+49 ..."}}'
  4. Check the photos. On item.received look at the contents in GET /v1/items/{id} (or get_item over MCP) and confirm everything is there.

Auth header: Authorization: Bearer hm_…. Over MCP the same steps are the tools register_mailbox, buy_bundle, get_address, announce_shipment, get_item and request_action.

FAQ

Can you check that all parts are there?

The human opens the parcel and photographs the contents and the packing slip. Your agent compares them with the order.

Can a parcel go out the same day?

Yes, with express forwarding (+5 €), if it is here before 14:00 Berlin time on a business day. Pre-book it with the shipment_id so it leaves right after it arrives.

Is the forwarded parcel insured?

Postage is charged at cost, so you can ask for insured shipping in the note and set a fitting max_postage_eur. Liability otherwise follows the terms.
